February is Morocco’s quiet gem: mild sunny days (13–19°C in the cities, 19–24°C in the desert), almond blossom in the southern valleys, low prices and almost no crowds. Nights stay cold — pack layers — but the light is beautiful and the country is yours.
We’re Happy Morocco Travel, an Amazigh family, born in Rissani by the Sahara. February is when the almond trees around Tafraoute and the southern oases bloom — our favourite quiet-season sight.
February Weather in Morocco
- Marrakech & Fes: 9–19°C — sunny afternoons, cold mornings
- Sahara (Merzouga): 19–24°C days, 3–8°C nights — blankets and stoves at camp
- Coast: 12–18°C, occasional rain
- Atlas: snow on the peaks — gorgeous backdrops, some high passes slow
Why February Works
It’s late winter with spring on the doorstep: days lengthen, prices stay low, and the famous sights are as quiet as they ever get. The almond blossom fills the Ameln Valley and southern oases late in the month — a photographer’s secret. Ramadan will fall across parts of Feb–March in coming years; travel is completely workable, just check dates and come with flexibility.
