How August Actually Works
Think sea-and-mountains with city bookends. Essaouira’s wind keeps it genuinely cool; the High Atlas villages are lovely; Chefchaouen’s altitude softens the evenings. Moroccan families holiday now, so the coast buzzes — book beach stays early. The upside of the heat: Marrakech’s riads and the desert camps drop prices, and dawn in the medina is a photographer’s dream.
What to Do in Morocco in August
Surf mornings at Taghazout, seafood at Essaouira’s port, Berber villages around Imlil — then one tightly-timed desert night if the dunes are calling. Ask for a custom coast-and-Atlas route, or adapt the 9-day cultural tour — it’s our most August-friendly itinerary.

How hot is the Sahara in August?
42°C+ at midday. One overnight works with local timing — sunset arrival, sunrise departure, air-conditioned travel between. Multi-day desert stays belong to other months.
Is the coast crowded in August?
Lively — it’s Moroccan holiday season, which is half the fun. Book accommodation ahead; the beaches absorb the crowds better than the medinas do.
