Dades Gorge in Morocco with green spring valleys and red rock walls in April

Morocco in April: Why It’s the Best Month to Visit

April is arguably the single best month to visit Morocco: 20–26°C days across the country, wildflowers in the Atlas, warm desert days and comfortable camp nights. It’s also peak season — book riads and desert camps 2–3 months ahead.

We’re Happy Morocco Travel, an Amazigh family — born in Rissani by the Sahara — and if a friend gave us one month to show them our country, we’d pick April.

April Weather in Morocco

  • Marrakech & Fes: 20–26°C — perfect medina weather
  • Sahara (Merzouga): 25–30°C days, 10–15°C nights — ideal camel-trek conditions
  • Coast: 18–24°C with ocean breeze
  • Atlas Mountains: green valleys, blooming roses toward Kelaat M’Gouna, superb trekking

Why April Is the Golden Month

Everything works at once: cities are warm but not hot, the desert is at its friendliest, and the mountains are green. Late April brings the rose harvest around the Dades. The one honest caveat: everyone knows April is the month — expect company at the famous sights and book early. Ramadan timing varies by year; check dates when you plan (the festive evenings are special, and tourist restaurants stay open).

What to Do in Morocco in April

This is the month for the full circuit. The 7-day itinerary and 10-day loop are at their absolute best, and the 8-day version with two Sahara days makes the most of the perfect desert weather. Hikers: the Atlas valleys are prime in April.
