Two days is the shortest trip that still gets you properly into the Sahara — one night on the sand instead of a long day in the car and nothing to show for it. It works if you fly into Errachidia, and it works as the tail end of a longer Morocco trip.
Our two-day tour runs Errachidia to Erg Chebbi and back: the Ziz palm valley, the fossil workshops at Erfoud, mint tea with a nomad family, Gnawa music in Khamlia, a night in a private luxury tent, and the dunes at sunset and again at sunrise. We depart on Saturdays, Mondays and Wednesdays so the return day always lands on Rissani’s souk — the market only opens Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday, and most tours drive straight past a closed square.

Yes, if you start close to it. From Errachidia the dunes are about two hours away, so two days buys you a full afternoon of desert, a night in a camp, and a sunrise — plus the Ziz Valley, Erfoud and Khamlia on the way. From Marrakech or Fes it is not enough; you would spend both days driving.
Errachidia, either your hotel or Moulay Ali Cherif Airport (ERH). It is the closest airport to Erg Chebbi and the reason a two-day desert trip is possible at all.
Not honestly. Marrakech to Merzouga is nine to ten hours each way, so a two-day version is two days in a car. If you are starting in Marrakech, look at our 3-day tours instead.
Saturdays, Mondays and Wednesdays, year-round. Each departure returns on a Rissani market day.
